Supertähtien kokoonpano julkaisee levyn

”Hollywood Vampires” perustettiin vuonna 1972 legendaarisella Rainbow Bar & Grill -klubilla Sunset Stripillä. Se oli tapaamispaikka Los Angelesissä majaileville tai siellä läpikulkumatkalla oleville rokkareille.
– Klubiin päästäkseen piti juoda muut jäsenet pöydän alle, kertoo klubin perustanut Alice Cooper.
Klubin jäseniä vuosien varrella olivat mm. Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, John Lennon ja Keith Moon.
Kolme vuotta sitten Alice Cooper päätti ystävänsä Johnny Deppin kanssa herättää Hollowood Vampiresin eloon, tällä kertaa tosin ilman yletöntä alkoholin käyttöä. Deppin ja Cooperin mukaan lähti Aerosmith-kitaristi Joe Perry, tuottaja Bob Ezrin ja lukuisa määrä vierailijoita, kuten Robby Krieger, Dave Grohl, Joe Walsh, Brian Johnson, Paul McCartney ja Slash.
Lopputulos on syyskuun 11. päivä julkaistava tribuuttialbumi Hollywood Vampires. Albumin introssa kuullaan vastikään edemennyttä Christopher Leetä, joka nauhoitti oman osuutensa juuri ennen kuolemaansa. ”Raise The Dead” ja ”Dead Drunk Friends” -biisejä lukuunottamatta albumin kappaleet ovat cover-versioita.
