Happy Wednesday lovies!🙌🏽❤️🤗 One of the interesting questions you have asked me is "how to fix glute imbalance when the other side is bigger or stronger than the other?" Here's things to do and avoid! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⚠️ Give some isolated activation exercises a try prior to working sets, but in this case only to the side harder for you to feel working during exercises. For example bodyweighted single leg hip thrusts work well especially with proper two second holds. The pump on the stubborn side can aid in working the target muscles better during working sets. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⚠️ If there's imbalance in muscle size between sides then this one's a goldie. For a while perform double the amount of sets to the weaker side in isolated single legged exercises compared to the stronger. The extra work allows the imbalance to begin to even out as there's more volume coming in for the weaker muscles. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⚠️ Avoid when fixing imbalances: On two legged exercises such as hip thrusts avoid complete failure. The weaker muscles will wear out first often resulting in a slight lean to the stronger side making up for the weaker side which might potentially increase the imbalance.
